Aaron Woodruff, MS

 

Aaron Woodruff has served as Chief of Police for Illinois State University since 2011 and has over 25 years of combined experience in both higher education and municipal law enforcement. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois Police Training Institute, the Illinois Law Enforcement Executive Institute, Florida Crime Prevention Institute, and the FBI National Academy. 

 

Chief Woodruff is an instructor on the subject areas of implicit bias, procedural justice, as well as violence prevention, preparedness, and response. He is a Master Trainer for the US Department of Homeland Security National Threat Evaluation and Reporting program on theprevention of targeted violence. 

 

Aaron has twice served as Co-Chair of the Minority and Police Partnership of McLean County and has collaborated closely with the local chapter of the NAACP.  He currently serves as President of the Illinois Campus Law Enforcement Administrators and on the Executive Board of the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police.

 

He has been decorated with numerous awards and recognitions over the course of his career, including an invitation to the White House in 2016.
