Kevin Jackson

Dr.  Jackson’s career in higher education spans more than 35 years and led him to Baylor University in 2009, where he serves as Vice President for Student Life. He has direct responsibility for 15 departments and offices whose missions focus on the design and delivery of high-impact services, programs, and faith formative experiences. Before joining Baylor University, Kevin served at Texas A&M University for 22 years in positions that included Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs, Director for Student Activities, and Senior Associate Director of the Memorial Student Center.  He also was a Visiting Assistant Professor teaching graduate courses in higher education and student affairs administration. Prior to his time at Texas A&M University, he served as the Associate Director of the Driscoll University Center at the University of Denver. 

 

Kevin has been engaged in crisis planning and response at all three institutions – University of Denver, Texas A&M University, and Baylor University.  He is also the author of Making Sense Out of the Senseless:  A Framework for Understanding the Impact of Traumatic Events on the Lives of Student Affairs Professionals in Crisis, Compassion, and Resiliency in Student Affairs:  Using Triage Practices to Foster Well-Being.  Kevin has been recognized as a distinguished member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
